Our journey in custom-made sportswear began over three decades ago when custom apparel pioneer Terry Sands founded one of the most respected multi-sport apparel businesses in 1996.

That legacy of craftsmanship, reliability, and customer-first thinking continues today through Tessen Prestige Apparel and Vaquita Apparel - two brands united by experience, innovation, and family values.

Following the successful sale of Samurai, the next generation launched Vaquita Apparel, supporting grassroots clubs and local businesses with high-quality bespoke garments and personalised service.

At the same time, Terry Sands established a joint venture manufacturing facility in China - Prestige Garment Factory - specialising in high-quality custom performance apparel for global markets.

As demand grew, Tessen Prestige Apparel was created, combining the founder’s initials (TES) with the symbolism of a Japanese ceremonial war fan, representing strength, precision, and tradition.

January 2026 marked a major milestone - 30 years since the founding of the original Samurai brand.

To honour this legacy and strengthen our future, Tessen and Vaquita officially united, forming a family-owned group with unmatched industry experience and exclusive use of the Prestige Garment Factory.
